Build the embedded systems that keep autonomous vehicles connected, synchronized, and reliable in the real world. This role sits at the intersection of firmware, Linux/RTOS, and modern vehicle communications like 5G, WiFi, UWB, GNSS, and automotive Ethernet.

About Glydways
Glydways is reinventing public transit with a carbon-neutral system of dedicated pathways and standardized autonomous vehicles. Their Network Platform team owns the embedded communication systems that deliver secure, reliable, diverse V2X connectivity and works closely with vehicle hardware, autonomy, and software to ship production-grade systems.

Schedule
Full-time
Remote

What You’ll Do

⦁ Design, prototype, build, and test production embedded firmware
⦁ Evaluate, implement, test, and optimize applications on Linux and RTOS environments
⦁ Design and implement communication protocols between devices and compute modules (existing and custom)
⦁ Debug complex cross-disciplinary issues and ship quality code with urgency
⦁ Partner with autonomy, hardware, and software teams across the full vehicle lifecycle (bring-up through deployment)
⦁ Help build testing frameworks at unit, integration, and system levels with test and platform engineers
⦁ Support firmware deployment strategies including remote and over-the-air updates

What You Need

⦁ Expert-level C or C++ programming skills
⦁ Solid knowledge of OS internals (scheduling, memory, concurrency, synchronization, storage)
⦁ Strong debugging ability and comfort working cross-functionally
⦁ Linux and/or RTOS fundamentals, BSPs, kernel configuration, driver interfaces, and debugging tools
⦁ Strong understanding of communication protocols from low-level (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN) to high-level (TCP/UDP)
⦁ Experience with bootloaders
⦁ Familiarity with Secure Boot and secure storage concepts
⦁ Experience with time synchronization protocols (NTP, PTP)
⦁ Experience deploying firmware remotely and OTA
⦁ Comfort with electronics test equipment and hardware debugging (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies)

Benefits

⦁ Not listed in the posting
⦁ Remote flexibility
⦁ High-impact work building real-world autonomous transit systems

If you like embedded work that actually touches the world and you can build systems that communicate cleanly under pressure, this is a strong one.
