This is a senior, hands-on platform role for somebody who can own middleware and the delivery pipeline end-to-end. You’ll lead modernization, automate deployments, harden security, and keep mission-critical environments stable across hybrid and cloud setups.

What You’ll Do
- Architect, deploy, and manage middleware platforms (WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat, Apache, MuleSoft, etc.)
- Lead modernization efforts (containerization, cloud migration, performance tuning)
- Maintain and support COBOL systems
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability
- Own patching, upgrades, security hardening, and compliance requirements
- Design and govern enterprise CI/CD pipelines (pipeline-as-code, reusable frameworks)
- Standardize automated deployments across Dev, QA, UAT, and Prod
- Embed DevSecOps practices (scanning, policy enforcement) into delivery workflows
- Lead container-based deployments using Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Helm
- Build IaC patterns using Terraform and similar tools (ARM/CloudFormation mentioned)
- Drive observability, root cause analysis, and performance optimization
- Partner across Dev, QA, Security, Infrastructure to streamline release processes
- Set standards, documentation, and mentorship for platform engineering practices
What You Need
- 8+ years in middleware/platform engineering
- Deep expertise in at least one enterprise middleware stack (WebLogic/JBoss/WebSphere, etc.)
- Strong CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Scripting/automation skills (Bash, Python, Groovy, PowerShell)
- Docker, Kubernetes, Helm experience
- Strong Linux/Unix systems administration background
- Artifact repository experience (Nexus or Artifactory)
- Solid networking fundamentals (load balancing, SSL/TLS, DNS)
- Infrastructure as Code exposure (Terraform, Ansible, ARM, CloudFormation)
- DevSecOps tooling familiarity (Snyk, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Trivy, etc.)
- Secrets management experience (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault)
