- Engineering leadership role over Platform Engineering teams
- Partners closely with Product, Principal Engineers, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders
What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop a team of engineers (up to Senior level) delivering high-quality software
- Build a high-performing culture rooted in accountability, innovation, and execution
- Run performance management, coaching, and growth planning for your team
- Define the team vision and roadmap aligned to company goals and OKRs
- Translate business needs into executable engineering plans with stakeholders
- Balance near-term shipping with long-term scalability and platform health
- Drive architectural and operational excellence with Principal Engineers and architects
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, including long-term architecture deficiencies
- Establish best practices for development, testing, and operational workflows
- Collaborate cross-functionally to reduce inefficiencies and improve delivery speed
- Represent your teams to senior leadership, customers, and stakeholders
What You Need
- 7+ years in software development, including 3+ years managing teams
- Strong grasp of software architecture, APIs, and scalable systems
- Proven ability to make smart trade-offs between short-term delivery and long-term health
- Demonstrated experience building, leading, and retaining high-performing teams
- Experience defining team mission/roadmaps aligned to broader OKRs
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including strategic documentation (narratives, proposals)
- Track record of delivering results in ambiguous, high-pressure environments
Nice to Have
- Experience managing backend teams
- Familiarity with domain-driven design and cross-functional development
- Experience leading geographically distributed teams and stakeholders
