Schedule
- Core Hours: 10 AM – 4 PM EST
- Work Type: Remote, USA (must meet legal work requirements in the US)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Art Director and vision holders to design and implement impactful VFX that elevate gameplay.
- Lead the VFX team: review work, provide constructive feedback, and coach artists to advance their careers.
- Build and optimize Niagara particle systems in Unreal Engine 5, ensuring performance and visual fidelity.
- Establish and refine scalable VFX pipelines.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges and deliver creative solutions under production constraints.
- Review milestone builds to confirm VFX quality and raise risks early.
- Contribute directly by creating new effects from scratch that support both gameplay and cinematic storytelling.
- Serve as a technical and creative resource across art and engineering teams.
- Champion continuous improvement in tools, workflows, and cross-team collaboration.
Requirements
- 7+ years of VFX experience in game development, including leadership of other artists.
- At least one shipped title in Unreal Engine, with deep UE5 Niagara expertise.
- Strong knowledge of timing, color theory, rhythm, and VFX principles.
- Proven ability to optimize VFX for both style and performance.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage complex pipelines.
- Experience mentoring and giving feedback to artists at different levels.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Shipped at least one AAA game.
- Console development experience (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X, Switch).
- Passion for video games and pushing visual effects to the next level.

Compensation
- Salary up to $130,000 annually, depending on experience.
