Schedule

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Remote: Yes (U.S. only)
  • Travel: Up to 10%
  • Expectation: Lead-level ownership of secure cloud systems, compliance documentation, and risk tracking for FAA environments
  • Background: Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust (U.S. Citizenship required)

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure supporting FAA enterprise systems (AWS focused)
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation including architecture guides, DevOps process docs, Zero Trust reference architecture, system design docs, user guides, RMF documentation, and SOPs
  • Own POA&M management activities, including status tracking, risk resolution, and timely responses aligned with FAA cybersecurity policies
  • Build and maintain a formal tracking and reporting system for POA&Ms, risk items, and data calls to improve visibility and accountability
  • Coordinate responses to technical data calls, compliance reviews, and audit requests
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and network teams to document and validate controls tied to Zero Trust, cloud configuration, and system security
  • Provide expert input on DevOps pipeline integration, cloud automation, and monitoring tools
  • Support configuration management documentation, engineering change proposals, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Mentor engineers on cloud best practices and documentation standards
  • Represent the team in FAA governance and technical meetings as a cloud and risk-tracking SME

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years of systems engineering experience, including 5+ years in cloud architecture, cloud engineering, or cloud operations
  • Proven ability to write clear, detailed technical documentation (SOPs, user guides, engineering docs) for cloud, DevOps, and Zero Trust environments
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, cloud automation, and configuration management
  • Proficiency with RMF, NIST 800-53, and POA&M management processes in federal IT environments
  • Experience building or maintaining risk and compliance tracking systems (CSAM, ServiceNow, or custom dashboards)
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
