What You’ll Do
- Monitor network traffic and security systems for suspicious activity
- Review SIEM alerts and escalate incidents when needed
- Assist with initial incident triage and investigations
- Document findings and support remediation efforts led by senior analysts
- Run vulnerability scans and complete basic risk assessments
- Help implement security controls and countermeasures
- Configure and update security tools, including:
- Firewalls
- IDS/IPS
- Endpoint protection systems
- Maintain security documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support compliance audits and risk assessments
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for staff
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
- 0–2 years of experience in IT or security operations
- Experience with network diagnostic/monitoring/analysis tools (coursework or internships OK)
- Basic understanding of:
- Networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSI model)
- Operating systems (Windows/Linux)
- Familiarity with common security tools (SIEM, antivirus, intrusion detection systems)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
