GovCIO is seeking an experienced Java Developer to support the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) with DevOps enhancements to enterprise IT systems under the EBTS portfolio. This is a fully remote role available across the U.S.

What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and test enterprise-wide web applications using Java and JavaScript
- Support CI/CD and DevSecOps practices across the system lifecycle
- Build RESTful APIs and web services with XML and JSON
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and teammates in agile sprints
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge
- Debug, resolve technical issues, and recommend infrastructure improvements
- Produce detailed design documentation and user support guides
What You Need
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with 12+ years of IT experience (or equivalent)
- 8+ years of Java development with J2EE, Spring, and Hibernate frameworks
- Strong experience with Oracle WebLogic (14c R2) and Oracle 19c DB
- Expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Vert.x, ReactJS, Redux
- Proficiency in REST/API design and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
- Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Hands-on with Selenium, Cucumber, Jest, JUnit, and automated QA frameworks
- Experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design
- Knowledge of front-end frameworks (Angular, Node.js, HTML/CSS, jQuery)
Preferred
- Experience with Git, Jira, GitLab, or Jenkins for CI/CD
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, and container orchestration
- Knowledge of infrastructure scripting (Python, PowerShell)
- Experience with Eclipse IDE, automated test pipelines, and Linux scripting
- Hands-on with MySQL or MongoDB
