What You’ll Do
- Develop, adapt, and optimize GameMaker projects across mobile, PC, and console platforms.
- Lead porting efforts for GameMaker games from PC to consoles, focusing on performance and compatibility.
- Implement game features, design systems, and debug gameplay issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members and occasionally interface directly with clients.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation to support ongoing development processes.
What You Need
- 2+ years of professional experience as a GameMaker Developer.
- Proven expertise with GameMaker in production environments.
- Experience porting GameMaker games from PC to consoles (Nintendo Switch preferred).
- Strong optimization skills for memory usage, asset handling, framerate, and performance.
- Familiarity with controller integration, UI adaptation, and console certification requirements.
- Proficiency with GameMaker’s console build pipeline, including SDK integration and packaging.
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for gaming and delivering polished, player-ready experiences.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with GameMaker v2.x or GMS2+ and extensions like Scribble and post-processing shaders.
- Completed development of at least one large-scale game title.
- Knowledge of mobile games and WebGL pipelines.
- Technical background in Computer Science, Game Development, or Mathematics.
