What You’ll Do

  • Develop, adapt, and optimize GameMaker projects across mobile, PC, and console platforms.
  • Lead porting efforts for GameMaker games from PC to consoles, focusing on performance and compatibility.
  • Implement game features, design systems, and debug gameplay issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with team members and occasionally interface directly with clients.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation to support ongoing development processes.

What You Need

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a GameMaker Developer.
  • Proven expertise with GameMaker in production environments.
  • Experience porting GameMaker games from PC to consoles (Nintendo Switch preferred).
  • Strong optimization skills for memory usage, asset handling, framerate, and performance.
  • Familiarity with controller integration, UI adaptation, and console certification requirements.
  • Proficiency with GameMaker’s console build pipeline, including SDK integration and packaging.
  • Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for gaming and delivering polished, player-ready experiences.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with GameMaker v2.x or GMS2+ and extensions like Scribble and post-processing shaders.
  • Completed development of at least one large-scale game title.
  • Knowledge of mobile games and WebGL pipelines.
  • Technical background in Computer Science, Game Development, or Mathematics.
