Mozilla, the nonprofit-backed company behind Firefox, is hiring a Frontend Software Engineer to help shape the future of AI-powered features in Firefox. This role sits on the Desktop Engineering team, where you’ll build high-quality user interfaces that expand the browser’s value and give users more control over their online experiences.

What You’ll Do
- Build accessible, high-quality user interfaces for Firefox across Windows, Linux, and macOS
- Write and test production code, build prototypes, and collaborate across design and engineering teams
- Contribute to a large, mature open-source codebase while solving complex problems
- Mentor teammates through code reviews, talks, and documentation
- Maintain high standards in performance, usability, testing, security, and accessibility
- Help shape engineering practices and foster cross-functional collaboration
What You’ll Bring
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong skills in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Proven track record of shipping high-quality software
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A passion for AI and building privacy-preserving, secure user experiences
Nice to Have
- Experience with SQL, C++, or Rust
- Familiarity with distributed teams and async communication
- Prior contributions to open-source projects
