  • Remote listed, but this role requires onsite work an average of 3 days per week

  • Typical hiring salary range: $100,300 to $150,465 (full salary grade: $100,300 to $172,000)

What You’ll Do

  • Assess existing systems and integrations to identify capabilities, gaps, and modernization opportunities
  • Lead system design and architecture decisions to build secure, scalable, reliable solutions
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across backend and frontend work while setting engineering best practices
  • Partner with product, infrastructure, and business teams to define tech roadmaps and implementation plans
  • Mentor and guide development teams, building a culture of quality and continuous improvement
  • Translate technical strategy into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders and leadership
  • Support Medica’s eligibility platforms with solutions that prioritize efficiency, scalability, compliance, and financial integrity

What You Need

  • Strong experience with Python, Informatica, and SQL
  • Strong understanding of system design principles, architecture patterns, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, APIs, microservices)
  • 7+ years of software engineering or technical architecture experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
  • Strong analytical thinking and a self-starter mindset
  • Strong understanding of systems and data governance standards and hierarchies
  • Ability to think strategically and influence with formal and informal leadership
