What You’ll Do
- Lead system design, architecture, and integration across hardware, software, networking, and storage components
- Develop comprehensive system specifications to guide implementation teams
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions based on performance, scalability, reliability, and cost
- Identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance, throughput, and resource utilization
- Integrate security measures into designs in collaboration with cybersecurity experts
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and frameworks such as FISMA, NIST, and GDPR considerations where applicable
- Design scalable, resilient systems with redundancy and failover mechanisms
- Collaborate with developers, network engineers, DBAs, and stakeholders to ensure interoperability across system components
- Produce technical documentation including architecture diagrams, design documents, implementation guides, and stakeholder reports
- Stay current on industry trends and proactively drive process improvement and optimization
What You Need
- 10 years of proven experience in system design, architecture, and implementation
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking protocols, and storage technologies
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages including Java, C#, Python, and JavaScript
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active Public Trust/MBI or ability to obtain one
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, AWS or Azure Solutions Architect (plus)
