What You’ll Do

  • Manage and support a mixed environment of Red Hat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and Solaris systems
  • Deploy new hardware/software and monitor system performance and security
  • Perform patch management, vulnerability hardening, and system tuning
  • Create and maintain operating procedures, SOPs, and technical documentation
  • Configure and maintain DNS, SMTP, NTP, and SFTP services
  • Perform periodic maintenance, firmware updates, and utilization reporting
  • Recommend and implement upgrades and system improvements
  • Troubleshoot complex networking environments using tools like VLANs, netstat, telnet, firewalld, and iptables
  • Manage local user accounts using command line tools

What You Need

  • High school diploma with 6–9 years of relevant IT experience (or equivalent)

  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • CE Certification (e.g., RedHat)—can be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • 5+ years as a UNIX Systems Administrator or IT Engineer with scripting/automation experience
  • 3+ years patching systems with YUM and RPM
  • 3+ years managing secure networking in UNIX environments
  • 3+ years with SOP development and disaster recovery processes
  • 3+ years configuring and maintaining essential network services

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science
  • Experience with SELinux and advanced security configuration
  • Familiarity with STIGs, SRGs, RMF, and cybersecurity readiness assessments
