What You’ll Do
- Build and support a variety of custom WordPress sites, including themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks (React/ACF)
- Create templates and patterns for Full Site Editing (FSE) and manage site configuration and updates
- Write clean, maintainable PHP, JavaScript (React), and CSS/Sass code
- Debug and triage unfamiliar WordPress sites efficiently
- Use modern workflows (Git flow, Composer, Docker, GitHub Actions, CI/CD) for deployments
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and engineers on technical solutions
- Participate in peer reviews and contribute to shared libraries and documentation
What You Need
- 3+ years of professional WordPress development experience
- Strong knowledge of WordPress architecture, REST API, hooks/filters, CPTs, and FSE concepts
- Proficiency with React for Gutenberg blocks; Next.js/headless experience a plus
- Familiarity with accessibility (WCAG 2.2), SEO, performance, and security best practices
- Experience with modern development workflows and environments (VIP, Pantheon, WPEngine)
- Prior experience in a digital agency or multi-client environment
