This role is for a senior engineer who loves turning scattered, messy data into something investigators can actually use. You’ll build integrations and high-volume pipelines for the Nova team’s “single pane of glass,” connecting disparate data sources so investigators can connect the dots fast, with real-world impact.
About Flock Safety
Flock Safety is a safety technology platform helping communities take a proactive approach to crime prevention and security. Their hardware and software connect cities, law enforcement, schools, businesses, and neighborhoods into a nationwide public-private safety network, with an emphasis on privacy and responsible innovation. They’re scaling quickly and building products that operate at the intersection of real-time data, responsible tech, and public safety outcomes.
Schedule

⦁ Architect robust third-party integrations that maintain data consistency across external APIs and internal systems
⦁ Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL with deep PostgreSQL focus
⦁ Contribute to system architecture and microservice design to support scale and long-term maintainability
⦁ Deploy and run services using Docker locally and Helm to Kubernetes in production
⦁ Leverage AWS managed services such as S3, API Gateway, SNS/SQS to support data workflows
⦁ Partner cross-functionally, including joining customer calls, to deliver high-value solutions quickly and iteratively
What You Need
⦁ Strong coding fundamentals and a “keep learning” mindset
⦁ Comfort operating in ambiguity and taking initiative without needing a perfect spec
⦁ Strong Python skills for data processing and pipeline development
⦁ Ability to work in TypeScript/Node.js when supporting the PERN stack
⦁ Extensive experience designing scalable ETL workflows and data pipelines
⦁ Bonus: orchestration tool experience (Airflow or Prefect)
⦁ Deep PostgreSQL knowledge and advanced SQL skills, including performance optimization
⦁ Experience integrating across multiple database systems and handling reliability and data consistency

⦁ Experience with microservices and system design for high-volume ingestion
⦁ Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes deployment experience
⦁ AWS managed services experience (S3, API Gateway, SNS/SQS)
⦁ Bonus: Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code patterns
⦁ Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS certification as a condition of employment (includes fingerprint-based background check)
Benefits
⦁ Salary range: $170,000–$190,000
⦁ Equity (stock options)
⦁ Flexible PTO (non-accrual) plus 11 company holidays
⦁ Fully paid health benefits (medical, dental, vision) with HSA match
⦁ 12 weeks paid parental leave (plus additional recovery time for birthing parents)
⦁ Fertility and family benefits (up to $50,000 lifetime maximum for eligible adoption, surrogacy, or fertility expenses)
⦁ Mental health benefits (therapy, coaching, medication support, and digital tools)
⦁ Caregiver support resources
⦁ Work-from-home stipend: $150/month
⦁ Productivity stipend: $300/year
⦁ Home office stipend: one-time $750
