What You’ll Do

  • Develop and support custom WordPress sites, themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks (React/ACF)
  • Build templates and patterns for Full Site Editing (FSE)
  • Write clean, maintainable PHP, JavaScript, and CSS/Sass
  • Configure and update WordPress environments, triage technical issues, and provide support
  • Use modern workflows including Composer, Docker, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to shared libraries, and maintain documentation
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and technical leads to deliver client solutions
  • Prioritize tasks across multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards

What You Need

  • 3+ years of professional WordPress development experience
  • Strong skills in custom themes, plugins, Gutenberg block development, and FSE
  • Proficiency in React, PHP, and SQL (Next.js or headless WordPress a plus)
  • Familiarity with REST API, CPTs, taxonomies, and modern WordPress architecture
  • Experience with performance, security, accessibility (WCAG 2.2), and SEO best practices
  • Knowledge of workflows with Git, Composer, Docker, CI/CD, and multi-environment setups
  • Experience with hosting environments like WordPress VIP, WPEngine, or Pantheon
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a digital agency or multi-client setting
