Full-time, remote (#LI-Remote). Role is open across the United States (location-based compensation). Cross-functional collaboration across product, engineering, and platform teams.
What You’ll Do
⦁ Drive architectural alignment, scalable platform abstractions, and internal tooling across the org
⦁ Design and govern API solutions (gateways, versioning, auth patterns, governance at scale)
⦁ Develop database scaling strategies (sharding, replication, partitioning) for high-growth systems
⦁ Build and optimize release methodology and flow of services across the software platform
⦁ Lead decomposition of monoliths into smaller services using cloud-native patterns, containers, serverless, and macroservices approaches
⦁ Champion CI/CD guardrails, secure-by-design DevOps practices, and compliance-conscious workflows
⦁ Own observability standards: monitoring, alerting, and performance analysis across distributed systems
⦁ Mentor engineers and technical leaders while influencing company-level technical strategy and decisions
⦁ Improve developer experience through strong documentation, self-service platforms, and friction-reducing architecture patterns
What You Need
⦁ 12+ years in software and infrastructure engineering, including 3+ years in architect-level roles making strategic decisions at scale
⦁ Expert API architecture knowledge (gateways, versioning, authN/authZ, governance)
⦁ Deep SQL database expertise (architecture, modeling, indexing, query optimization)
⦁ Strong programming background across multiple languages (Ruby, Python, Go, JavaScript, etc.)
⦁ Proven experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture
⦁ Production cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) plus Kubernetes, containerization, and serverless technologies
⦁ Strong DevOps foundation: CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
⦁ Monitoring and observability experience (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.)
⦁ Ability to defend architectural decisions tied to business outcomes, not just technical elegance
⦁ Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
