What You’ll Do

  • Own and administer the Looker platform, including:
    • Permissions
    • Performance considerations
    • Content lifecycle
    • Development standards
  • Lead the direction and quality of Kin’s semantic layer and BI practices
  • Align cross-functional teams on shared metrics and definitions, guiding tradeoffs when definitions differ
  • Oversee the reliability and ongoing development of core enterprise dashboards and reports
  • Partner with data engineering on dimensional model design and evolution, advocating for analytics-friendly best practices
  • Hire, mentor, and lead analytics engineers, strengthening modeling, semantic design, and stakeholder partnership skills
  • Build and implement new analytics and reporting solutions that improve trust and usability across the business

What You Need

  • 6–8+ years in analytics engineering, BI engineering, or data modeling roles
  • Expert-level SQL and dimensional modeling experience
  • Proven ability to design simple, durable semantic layers over complex data
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to align technical and non-technical partners
  • Demonstrated leadership through mentoring, direction-setting, or team leadership
  • Hands-on experience with modern lakehouse/warehouse platforms (e.g., Databricks) and/or BI tools (e.g., Looker)
  • High emotional intelligence and empathy when navigating differing perspectives and definitions
