Pomelo Care is a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, engineers, and problem solvers dedicated to improving care for pregnant people, babies, and families. Their technology-driven virtual care platform engages patients early, identifies risk, and delivers coordinated, personalized support through pregnancy, NICU stays, and the first postpartum year. Pomelo measures success by real clinical outcomes: fewer preterm births, fewer NICU admissions, fewer c-sections, and improved maternal health.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain core data models that measure Pomelo’s program impact using claims, clinical, and operational data
  • Translate stakeholder and data science needs into scalable, reliable analytics layer models
  • Combine multiple data sources to improve linkage accuracy, including parent-child relationships and pregnancy episodes
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual reporting work and implement technical automation
  • Productionize prototype cost and outcomes models built by the health economics team
  • Partner with data scientists to define best practices for analytics modeling
  • Improve data quality through documentation, query optimization, testing, and self-service tooling
  • Contribute to company-wide data standards and documentation

Requirements

  • 4 or more years of experience in analytics engineering, data science, or data engineering with deep SQL expertise
  • 2 or more years working with healthcare data, especially claims
  • Experience with dbt and orchestration tools such as Dagster or Airflow
  • Proficiency transforming data with Python
  • Strong communicator able to translate technical needs for non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to understand business value quickly and prioritize accordingly
  • Experience working with BI tools like Looker, Metabase, or Tableau
  • Passion for impacting maternal health outcomes through high-quality data
