Schedule

  • Full-time, fully remote (United States)
  • Direct hire role
  • Must have an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI)
  • Must be fully compliant with federal tax filing requirements

What You’ll Do

  • Provide design and implementation support within a cross-functional development team
  • Design and develop software from business requirements in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Create, update, test, and maintain IBM ALC programs in a z/OS environment
  • Support and maintain existing Java programs as needed
  • Conduct trial runs and validate programs produce correct results
  • Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs using workflow charts/diagrams and symbolic logic
  • Modify, repair, or expand existing programs to improve efficiency or meet new requirements
  • Consult with management, engineering, and technical teams to clarify intent and resolve issues
  • Perform systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control system software usage
  • Produce and maintain documentation for program development and revisions
  • Create and maintain workflow charts/diagrams that describe program input/output and logic
  • Partner with Computer Systems Analysts (CSAs) to define and resolve issues in program runs
  • Support testing, troubleshoot issues, and remediate defects
  • May provide coaching or training to other team members within the job area

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Job-specific requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree required (4 additional years of related experience may substitute)
    • 6+ years of related experience
    • IBM ALC programming experience in a z/OS environment
    • IBM Job Control Language (JCL) experience
    • Experience supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining Java programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in client support
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management
  • Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision
  • Strong time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) and federal tax filing compliance (required)
