What You’ll Do
- Partner with dev teams to build scalable, secure, maintainable systems
- Influence and lead architecture and design decisions across teams
- Own architectural initiatives for a capability area or architecture layer
- Research options, build proof-of-concepts, write documentation, and plan delivery with teams
- Collaborate with Tech Leads, Security, Production Ops, and senior leaders on standards and patterns
- Participate in design reviews, surface misalignment with strategy/standards, and propose solutions
- Improve stability, scalability, and performance of systems
- Help shape roadmaps and scope/prioritization with stakeholders
- Ensure security, manageability, quality, and consistency in your area
- Write code to support architecture initiatives and new patterns/services
- Mentor developers and technical leads on new patterns and best practices
What You Need
- Bachelor’s in CS or equivalent experience
- 10+ years software development experience
- 5+ years in an architecture role (or equivalent mastery)
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles and information architecture
- Deep expertise in multiple areas including:
- One or more: .NET/.NET Core/C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React
- Data structures/algorithms, OOP, design patterns, SOLID
- Testing culture (unit/integration, TDD), code review, refactoring, pairing
- Multithreading and performance considerations
- Lean/Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban/XP), CI/CD
- Containers/orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Cloud patterns (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP acceptable)
- API design (REST, XML/JSON), auth (SAML, OAuth, JWT)
- Data security and PII protection
- Complex system integrations (internal + external)
- Preferred: FinTech experience
- Strong communication and ability to tailor architecture discussions to mixed audiences
