Wattpad, part of the WEBTOON family of brands, is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to help shape the future of storytelling. You’ll join the Data Products & Analytics team to build ML-powered discovery systems—connecting millions of readers with the stories they’ll love. 📋 What You’ll Own
• Build, deploy, and maintain ML solutions for search, ranking, and recommendation engines
• Partner cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and data scientists
• Translate ambiguous product challenges into practical ML frameworks
• Improve discovery systems through iteration, measurement, and scalable infrastructure
• Guide best practices in ML lifecycle: experimentation, training, serving, and evaluation
• Design and optimize feature pipelines and dashboards
• Advocate for changes to infrastructure or processes that unlock better business value
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• 3+ years experience in ML engineering or applied machine learning roles
• Strong Python, SQL, and PySpark (plus) skills
• Hands-on experience with model deployment, data pipelines, and ML operations
• Proficiency in frameworks like Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Ray, Dask, or AWS SageMaker
• Cloud infrastructure experience (preferably AWS), plus Docker/Kubernetes familiarity
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform) is a bonus
• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to cross-functional teams
• Passion for using ML to solve real business problems
