We’re on the hunt for a detail-obsessed Web Design and UX Consultant to shape and refine user experiences that don’t just look good—they work. If you blend human-centered design with usability testing, prototyping, and visual storytelling—and you’re comfortable leading conversations with both engineers and execs—this role is calling your name.

• Project variety across public-sector CX platforms
• Work with cross-functional teams on high-impact projects
đź› Your Mission
• Create and enforce templates, UI guidelines, and UX standards
• Lead the planning and execution of usability testing
• Collaborate across teams to develop scenarios, screeners, and prototypes
• Translate human-centered design insights into actionable product improvements
• Present usability findings to diverse stakeholders (technical and non-technical)
• Monitor real-world performance to ensure design intent carries through
đź“š Must-Have Skills
• 4+ years in UX/UI design with a strong HCD (Human-Centered Design) approach
• Hands-on experience in usability testing, research, and prototyping
• Skilled in data analysis and translating user feedback into design improvements
• Bachelor’s in Human Factors, Graphic Design, Interaction/Visual Design, or similar
• Fluent in communicating design concepts to cross-functional audiences
• Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
🌟 Bonus Points (Nice to Have)
• Experience working with California state agencies or public sector clients
• Familiarity with California Web Usability Guidelines & the Governor’s Template
• 1+ year using Ovo Studios CaptureUX
🌍 Remote Requirements
• Must be based in the United States
• Available for occasional on-site meetings in Sacramento, CA
• Strong WiFi + home office setup
