🧠About the Role
Sawhorse Productions, a leading immersive content studio based in Los Angeles, is looking for a Roblox Art Director to guide the visual identity of our next wave of interactive experiences. As a creative leader, you’ll shape the look and feel of groundbreaking projects, mentor a high-performing team, and ensure we stay on the cutting edge of visual storytelling within Roblox and beyond.
This is a remote-friendly contract role (US only), with optional hybrid flexibility in our LA office. Ideal for an experienced game art director with deep knowledge of the Roblox ecosystem.
✨ What You’ll Do
- Lead and mentor a cross-disciplinary art team (concept, 3D, UI, animation)
- Set the visual tone and aesthetic vision across all Roblox game projects
- Translate game narrative and design into dynamic visual storytelling
- Collaborate with writers, designers, developers, and producers
- Manage art timelines, priorities, and deliverables
- Conduct regular visual QA reviews for consistency and polish
- Offer actionable feedback and guide iterative improvements
- Balance high-level creative vision with technical and production constraints
✅ What You’ll Bring
- 🎮 4–6 years as an Art Director or Lead Artist in the gaming space
- đź› Proficiency with design tools (Maya, Blender, Photoshop, Figma, Roblox Studio, etc.)
- 🧠Strong knowledge of Roblox platform pipelines and performance best practices
- 🔥 Portfolio demonstrating past game launches and artistic leadership
- 🤝 Excellent leadership, team-building, and communication skills
- 🧩 Ability to bridge big creative ideas with real-world constraints
- 🎯 Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable with remote collaboration

- Schedule: West Coast hours, M–F, 9AM–6PM PT
- Location: Remote (US only) or hybrid in Los Angeles
