(Remote – 1099 Contract)

🧾 About the Role
Friends From The City is seeking a Technical Writer to support the redesign and content migration of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation website. This is a 1099 contract role (approx. 75–80 hours total) running from July 15 to August 25, 2025. The work is fully remote and centers on crafting accessible, user-friendly documentation and training materials for a new Drupal-based platform. You’ll translate complex processes into clear content that empowers public servants to manage the new system with confidence.

📋 What You’ll Own
• Turn technical workflows and internal knowledge into clear documentation
• Develop training materials to help NYS Parks staff update Drupal content
• Create detailed handoff guides for operational continuity post-launch
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and leads to identify content gaps
• Support live or asynchronous training sessions and refine resources based on feedback
