This is a hands-on, leadership role for a Power BI expert who can architect scalable solutions, create development standards, and guide advanced reporting across the organization. You’ll collaborate with data engineering (without performing ETL tasks) and serve as the go-to authority for Power BI performance, design, and innovation.

📋 What You’ll Own
Architecture & Strategy
• Design and evolve BI architecture and Power BI roadmap
• Define and enforce architectural best practices, modeling standards, and governance
• Build scalable semantic models and testing frameworks
• Document technical architecture and reusable components
Technical Leadership
• Act as lead expert for Power BI performance and optimization
• Guide advanced use of DAX, Power Query, and custom visuals
• Collaborate with data engineering to align models and data flows
• Optimize DAX queries, rendering performance, and user experience
• Recommend new features and capabilities to advance analytics maturity
Development & Implementation
• Build and optimize semantic models using dimensional modeling best practices
• Develop paginated reports and advanced dashboards
• Implement automated testing and reusable Power BI components
• Create standards and templates to accelerate development across teams
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 7+ years in BI development, including 4+ years focused on Power BI
• Expert-level skills in:
- Power BI semantic modeling and DAX
- Performance tuning and architecture optimization
- Paginated report development
• Solid grasp of: - Data warehousing and dimensional modeling
- ELT/ETL processes (awareness-level, not hands-on)
- Data security within Power BI
- Azure platforms (Data Lake, SQL, DevOps)
• Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
